An RR finish and a house.

I really enjoyed stitching this one:

Mandarin ducks.

And new house pictures are up.

Cuts like a knife.

I was trying to catch my breath in a quilting shop after running Alison to her Kindermusik class today when I spotted a Clover thread cutter pendant hanging on the rack. Whee! I’ve been wanting to get my hands on one for ages but have always waffled because I didn’t see the logic in paying US$11 for shipping it over and I really don’t want to add to my stash by tacking patterns and other stuff onto the order just to make it worthwhile. I’ve estimated that it will take me 5 years to stitch all my stash – measly by many hardcore stitchers’ standards, but quite intimidating for me. So no more stash for the time being.

Anyway, the shop is selling the pendant for S$18.90 which is quite a bit more than the US price, but after factoring in shipping, I think it’s about right. I am not sure if I can take it with me on a plane (I’m guessing stitching is still a no-go because CAAS is unlikely to change their regulations even if the TSA in the US does) but it’s a timely replacement for my embroidery scissors which has suffered one too many drops and is now annoyingly blunt, much like I am sometimes. Heh.

Going to test-cut with the Clover later tonight! I still have some stitching on my mandarin ducks to do, and most of the backstitching, so this will come in really handy.

If you’re interested in getting one, the shop’s name is Quilts ‘n’ Calicoes at Tanglin Mall, on the third floor. They also carry John James needles and even Thread Heaven. Expensive, but here for the buying.
